Majority of UK Websites Now Compliant with Cookie Regulations After Mass Call to Action
The call to action for website compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response. Of the 53 organisations contacted by the campaigners, 38 have already taken steps to change their cookies banners to be compliant and four have committed to reaching compliance within the next month.
This movement towards compliance is not limited to just the top 100 websites but extends to all websites offering services to UK users. This is evident as the campaigners have mentioned that they are preparing to reach out to the next 100 and the following 100 websites on the list.
The successful outcome of this campaign indicates that there is a growing awareness among organisations about the importance of complying with GDPR regulations. The fact that many organisations have taken immediate steps to ensure compliance shows a willingness to adhere to the expectations set by the government and regulatory bodies.
The campaign also highlights the potential consequences for non-compliance, as it is stated that the campaigners will continue to work through the list of websites and give them the same message to become GDPR compliant. This serves as a reminder for websites to review their data protection policies and procedures to avoid facing penalties from regulators.
In conclusion, the success of this campaign serves as a strong message to all organisations offering services to UK users to take the necessary steps towards GDPR compliance before facing potential consequences from regulators.
