Digital Engineering for Defense Summit

Accelerating Advanced Warfighting Capability Delivery

Defense Strategies Institute's 4th annual Digital Engineering for Defense Summit will bring together leaders from across the Department of War, federal government, industry, academia, and other relevant stakeholders to advance engineering innovation to accelerate the delivery of advanced warfighting systems for technological advantage. This Summit will highlight critical DoW programs and policies that are shaping the design, strategy, and acquisition of the joint force.

Summit Focus

The Department of War is focused on accelerating the delivery of advanced warfighting capabilities to the Joint Force with greater speed, agility, and efficiency. As systems become increasingly complex, digital engineering is emerging as a critical approach for designing, developing, delivering, and sustaining next generation defense capabilities. By leveraging integrated digital environments, model-based systems engineering, and advanced data-driven tools, the DoW is transforming how defense systems are engineered across the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle.

Topics Covered

• Designing, Acquiring, and Sustaining the Future Fleet with Digital Engineering

• From Policy to Program: Operationalizing Digital Engineering to Support Acquisition, Reduce Risk, and Enhance Interoperability

• Delivering a Lethal and Resilient Space Enterprise: Driving Digital Transformation to Operate at Speed and Scale

• Scaling Digital Engineering Across the Air Force to Accelerate Capability Delivery and Sustainment

• Driving DoW's Practice of Digital Engineering Across Major Acquisition Programs

• How the Army is Aligning Data Strategy, Software Acquisition, and Digital Engineering to Enable Continuous Modernization

Summit Objectives

The 4th Annual Digital Engineering for Defense Summit will explore the implementation of digital engineering tools, technologies, and strategies that are modernizing defense systems, accelerating capability delivery, reducing program cost and risk, and improving interoperability across the services. Attendees will hear from leaders across the community on efforts to integrate digital transformation initiatives, including modeling and simulation, digital twins, digital threads, AI/ML, and emerging technologies across the services, federal government, academia, and industry. Sessions will explore what it means for programs to be "born digital," highlight real-world implementation efforts, and examine how digital engineering is enabling faster, more collaborative development of mission-critical systems.

What You Have the Ability to Do

Gain Education & Insight: Walk away with knowledge gained from senior level speakers on complex challenges facing the digital engineering community.

Build Partnerships: The agenda is designed to allow for ample networking opportunities and the ability to engage in constructive dialogue among all in attendance.

Influence: Help foster ideas by sharing your own insight and knowledge during interactive sessions. All attendees are encouraged to address speaker faculty and each other with questions, comments or ideas.

Government Operating Guidance

DSI's Summit directly supports DoW and Government priorities by providing a conduit for officials to efficiently reach audiences outside of their respective offices that directly impact their department's mission success, at no charge to the government, and in an efficient expenditure of time. The Summit provides a forum to address and improve internal and external initiatives, meet with and hear from partner organizations, disseminate vital capability requirements to industry, increase visibility within the larger community, and generally support their mission.

The Summit is open and complimentary to all DoD and Federal employees and is considered an educational and training forum. (Industry and academia members are charged a fee for admission.)

What to Expect

This summit brings together Department of War officials, federal government representatives, military service leaders, industry partners, and academia to address digital engineering implementation across the defense enterprise. Through presentations on policy operationalization, service-specific digital transformation efforts, real-world program examples, and interactive dialogue, participants gain insights into how digital engineering tools and strategies are accelerating capability delivery while reducing program risk and cost across the joint force.

Note: Summit is closed to press and no recordings are permitted.
