Vendors should be clear about what their systems do today, and where they are heading. Buyers should evaluate capabilities based on architecture and behavior, not terminology. Analysts and advisors should push for meaningful distinctions between assistance, automation, and orchestration.
Because the opportunity here is real.
Agentic capabilities, when they mature, have the potential to fundamentally reshape how organizations manage risk, respond to change, and maintain integrity. They can reduce fragmentation, improve coordination, and align GRC activity more closely with business objectives.
But that future will not be built on language alone. It will be built on systems that actually do what the language implies.
