FINRA Foundation Launches 2025 Military Spouse Fellowship Program

By

The FINRA Foundation has announced the 2025 Military Spouse Fellowship program, marking its 20th anniversary. This initiative aims to equip military spouses with the skills necessary to achieve the Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) certification, thereby enhancing their career prospects in financial counseling. Since its inception in 2006, the program has successfully trained over 700 military spouses, who have collectively served more than 280,000 military families, fostering financial confidence and empowerment within these communities.

The Fellowship not only provides essential training but also facilitates networking opportunities among financial counseling professionals. As highlighted by Heather Walrath, a former Fellowship recipient, the AFC credential is recognized within the Department of Defense community, underscoring the commitment to continual learning and professional development. Gerri Walsh, President of the FINRA Foundation, emphasizes the program's role in strengthening financial security and readiness among military families.

Interested military spouses are encouraged to apply for this enriching opportunity to join a supportive community dedicated to improving the financial well-being of service members and their families.
